When you move home, your distributor may charge a disconnection/reconnection fee that can vary depending on which state you live and may change from time to time.
A disconnection fee applies when you move out of your old property and power is disconnected. A reconnection fee applies when you move into your new property and power is reconnected. We will pass on these charges to you.

Difference between Origin and your distributor
As your energy retailer, Origin manages your power and natural gas accounts. We work closely with your distributor – a company independent of Origin that manages the poles, wires, gas pipes, etc. in your area – to supply electricity and natural gas at your address.
So to keep it simple, your distributor builds the distribution network to help us – your retailer – bring electricity and natural gas to your home.
For more information, find your distributor.
