Commercial energy management

Why define large business and small business?

There are specific market rules and responsibilities, legislation and requirements for large businesses, so our teams and processes are set up to keep you up-to-date and compliant.

We define a large business as customers that use around 100 megawatt hours (Mwh) of electricity, or spend more than $30,000 per year.

For natural gas, our large business customers typically use over 1 terajoule (TJ) per annum.

More than power

Yes it's important to get the best electricity deal, but it also helps to compare energy suppliers to find a partner that provides more than just gas and electricity.

When you partner with Origin, we work through a process that provides your business with ongoing support to better manage energy for long-term sustainability. Working together improves how we plan ahead, to keep your business running.

Using our energy reporting portal, our team can help you monitor energy use to reduce ‘Business As Usual’ consumption.

We'll assess on-site behind-the-meter solar solutions such as SolarFlex, and off-site large-scale renewable participation.

We look to leverage asset flexibility to shift consumption to cheaper rates, and reduce cost.

We're one of Australia’s largest investors in utility scale solar, executing PPAs for solar projects. That gives you a unique opportunity to access renewable energy with firmed supply, under long term arrangements.
